Mission & Core Objective

Your primary goal in 1917 Squad Leader is to cross hostile territory and reach a large enemy machine that endangers many soldiers. Each attempt challenges you to navigate from your starting point to this target while managing limited time. The machine's threat drives the urgency, and stopping it requires both forward progress and tactical decisions along the way.

Rescue Mechanics & Squad Growth

Scattered across the battlefield are captured comrades. Freeing them adds them to your squad, directly increasing your team's strength and survivability. This rescue system creates a risk-reward dynamic: taking detours to save soldiers costs time but pays off with a larger, more resilient group. The more allies you recruit, the better equipped you are to handle obstacles and enemy resistance later in the run.

Gold, Upgrades & Vehicle Support

Gold coins appear throughout each level, and collecting them funds purchases in the in-game shop. Upgrades range from improved equipment to a heavy armored vehicle that can turn the tide in tough situations. Deciding when to spend gold versus saving for the vehicle adds a layer of resource management. Because each run generates different challenges, your upgrade priorities may shift from attempt to attempt.

Controls & Strategic Pacing

Movement uses simple controls, making the game accessible while still demanding careful planning. Avoiding obstacles and choosing routes wisely conserves precious time. The game blends arcade action with light strategy, encouraging players to learn enemy patterns and refine their approach over multiple runs. There is no graphic violence; the focus stays on courage, cooperation, and smart decision-making.
