Round Structure and Win Condition

Every round in Salon Showdown Arena starts with the two players on opposite sides of the screen. Each fighter has a green health bar on the left that shows how much damage they can absorb, and a blue energy bar on the right that controls shooting. The goal is to land projectiles on the opponent while avoiding incoming fire. Because matches usually finish in under a minute, rounds stay tense and demand quick decisions rather than long, drawn-out exchanges.

Energy as a Tactical Resource

The blue energy bar is the heart of the game. Every shot drains it, and it refills slowly over time. Firing constantly leaves a player unable to respond when it matters, while holding back too long lets the opponent set the pace. This single rule prevents chaotic click-spamming and turns each round into a balance between aggression and patience. Players who read the energy bar well can bait shots, then punish the recovery window.

Controls for Mouse and Keyboard

Salon Showdown Arena supports two input styles. With the mouse, moving the cursor steers the character and clicking fires. Keyboard users move with A, D, or the left and right arrow keys, hold Shift or Control to move slowly for precise aiming, and press Space to shoot. The slow-movement option is especially useful when lining up a shot against an evasive opponent, adding tactical depth without making the controls complicated.

Local and Online Competition

The game offers both local two-player matches on a shared screen and online multiplayer against opponents elsewhere. Built with HTML5, it runs in most web browsers without a download, so a match can start from a laptop, desktop, or touchscreen device with an internet connection. This makes it easy to fit a quick duel into a short break, whether playing side by side or online.

Minimalist Visuals and Performance

Clean lines and simple shapes define the look. Characters and projectiles stand out clearly against the background, which reduces visual clutter and helps players track multiple shots at once. The minimal style also keeps performance smooth on lower-end hardware, since there are no complex animations or effects competing for attention. The result is a modern, uncluttered presentation that favors function over flash.
