The Chase and the Prize

Chase Escape Arcade Runner puts you in the role of a character who must stay one step ahead of a persistent creature. The creature moves quickly, and any contact ends the run. Your survival depends on continuous movement and quick directional changes. Scattered along each path are glowing emeralds. Grabbing them raises your score and builds toward costume unlocks in the in-game shop. The tension comes from balancing two goals at once: keep distance from your pursuer, but also sweep close enough to collect emeralds. That push-and-pull defines every run.

Controls and Movement

On a keyboard, arrow keys handle movement. On touch devices, on-screen controls do the same job. The scheme is deliberately simple, so the challenge comes from reading the screen and reacting, not from memorizing button combinations. Because the creature never stops, standing still is not an option. You will constantly adjust your route to avoid obstacles while keeping the creature behind you. The controls respond immediately, which matters when a single mistimed turn can end the run.

Collecting Emeralds and Unlocking Costumes

Emeralds serve two purposes. First, they add points to your score. Second, they feed into a costume unlock system. The more you gather across runs, the more shop items become available. This gives each attempt a secondary objective beyond pure survival. You might choose a riskier path to grab a cluster of emeralds, knowing the creature is close behind. Costumes are cosmetic, but they provide a visible record of progress and a reason to keep playing after a high score.

Two-Player Mode and Level Variety

Two-player mode lets a friend join on the same device. The game supports this without requiring a download or an account. Levels introduce new obstacle patterns as you go, so route knowledge from early stages only partly carries over. The pixel art keeps hazards and collectibles readable even when the screen gets busy. Runs can be short, which suits quick sessions, but the scoring and unlock loop encourages repeat attempts.
